Welcome to Calvary!
Being a new person in a church is not always a comfortable feeling. We at Calvary Fellowship want to take that discomfort away. I hope you sense the love and presence of Jesus among us, for He is here. Our desire is to be a blessing from God to you. Why? Because our Lord Jesus Christ has been supremely good to us.
Our purpose at Calvary Fellowship is to glorify God by pointing people to Jesus Christ, Who alone is sufficient for our every need. Our greatest desire is to help people know Christ and fully receive His love. In response to His love, we as a church have three goals:
Our first goal is to love God with all of our hearts, minds and lives. For this reason, in our gatherings, we have three priorities: 1) Teaching God’s Word so that we might truly know how He wants us to love Him; 2) Worshiping God by singing praises to Him; and 3) Seeking God in prayer.
Our second goal is to love each other as members together in God’s family. There are many opportunities for fellowship, friendship and service in our church body. We desire that every person who attends Calvary Fellowship have a sense of love and belonging.
Finally, our third goal is to love our world. We pursue this goal in two ways: 1) As individuals, live and share the Gospel in our homes and communities; and 2) Together, share the Good News of Jesus Christ with all the earth.
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God and inerrant in the original writings.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the unsaved; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are unsaved unto the resurrection of damnation.
We believe in the deity of of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that the lost and sinful man must be saved, and that Man’s only hope of redemption is though the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Calvary Fellowship is associated with Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa, California, founded and pastored by Chuck Smith. Chuck was greatly used by God to help bring about the “Jesus Movement” of the late 1960s and early 1970s, and he is the author/teacher of the national radio program “Word for Today,” as well as author of dozens of books. The Calvary Chapel Movement has spawned over 1,200 churches in the United States and around the world.
In 1977 Wayne Taylor started a Sunday service with a handful of people. Through steady, stimulating Bible teaching, the fellowship developed into a church that ministers to 1,500 people per week and has birthed over 20 churches in Washington and 40 abroad (Russia, Japan, Germany, France to name a few). Wayne has written five books: The Civil War Within, He Dwelt Among Us, Practical Christian Living, The Unsearchable Riches of Christ and Tidings of Great Joy.
Pastor Wayne systematically studies through the books of the Bible by going through a complete book verse-by-verse. Often, he’ll bring in the history of the book and interpret the original language in which it was written to help us apply the living Word of God to our daily lives. Wayne is an exciting and practical teacher of God’s Word who also has a strong heart for those who don’t yet know God’s love.
Wayne and his wife Cathy live in Seattle, enjoying lasting friendships with each of their four kids and growing number of grandchildren.
