Giving to the family of God is a responsibility. The book of Acts describes the church as “having all things in common” (Acts 2:44). As the body of Christ, we share the responsibility of funding Kingdom work on earth.
Giving to the Lord’s work is about investing in God’s priorities. The Bible tells us (Philippians 4:16-19) that giving is a way we partner with God in his redemptive work. When we give, it not only is a blessing to God, but it bears fruit that “increases to our credit.”
Giving money to the Lord is a way in which we worship God with the whole self (Romans 12:1). It is a radical and counter-cultural point of view. Because while the rest of the world worships money as god, we worship God with our money.
